Company History
Since 1959, IHS served customers ranging from governments and multi-national companies to smaller businesses and technical professionals. As customers’ needs for information and insight evolved, so did IHS. Our growth strategy included the acquisition of many best-in-class industry information and expert companies, many with a colorful history dating back to the late 1700 and 1800s. In 2016, IHS entered a merger of equals with another global information leader to create a new company, IHS Markit.
